Neko is the iconic Maneki Neko — the Japanese beckoning lucky cat — that hit BitcoinTalk in November 2010, created by user bitboy. It became one of the earliest community mascots and cat memes in crypto, predating Dogecoin, Pepe, and the entire wave of animal coins that followed.
